COVAX announces their first vaccine distribution forecast
A new partnership has been emerged for the Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, Gavi, Vaccine Alliance and the World Health Organization leading together with the COVAX for a stabilized access to COVID-19 vaccines to the world, alongside the main delivery partner UNICEF, are all set to announce COVAX’s first global vaccine distribution forecast.
Adding on to the announcement of the 2021 COVAX supply forecast, the distribution forecast provides all the information based on the projected availability of doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in Q1 2021 and the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccines that will be available in the first half 2021 to COVAX Facility members. Announcement made public in less than two weeks after the announcement of the signed purchase agreement with Pfizer/BioNTech and the first WHO EU approval for COVID-19 vaccines.
The purpose of announcing this global distribution schedule with countries, even in this highly advance global distribution environment, is to provide every health care systems as well as the government with the useful information they need to prepare for their vaccination programmes and the final allocations will be announced in schedules distribution course.
